  1. give contact details for when you are away
  2. give instructions about how to care for your pet

(band 6 to 7)

Hi Tom, Dear Tom,

It’s been a while since we last met at your home. I hope everything is going well. I wrote this email to remind you that I’m about to head to the trip that I mentioned about last time from the May 29th to May 31stI am writing to remind you of the trip I mentioned last time, which is scheduled from May 29th to May 31st. And, I would like to provide some contacts that you might find helpful during the time of taking care my Cat – GB. The vet: 0987-654-321. This is for the urgent sickness which sometimes come up to GB. In case of any health concerns with GB, please contact our vet at 0987-654-321 immediately. Additionally, Tim, my colleague, in case it also happened that you would need to leave for a while so that he can take care it for you at the particular slot of time.

I trust this letter finds you in the best of spirits. I’m writing to express my deepest gratitude for agreeing to house-sit and care for GB, my cat, during my absence from May 29th to May 31st.

Should any concerns arise, please feel free to contact our vet at 0987-654-321 for any urgent health issues GB may encounter. Additionally, Tim, a reliable colleague of mine, can be reached in case you need to step out momentarily. He is well-acquainted with GB and can fill in during your absence.

I would also like to mention about that GB is a night cat. It means it tends to sleep during the day time but do things in the night. GB typically slumbers throughout the day and becomes active at night. To avoid that it may disturb your sleep, I recommend you take my customized toy (automatic running mouse) to take the advantage of this small thing that GB would be more than happy to play with in the day time instead of just to lie in the bed. Other than that, GB is a pretty easy-to-take-care-of cat, you just need to provide it food and drink. It would just live well with that.

GB is nocturnal by nature, often active at night and resting during the day. To ensure a peaceful night’s sleep for you, I’ve left an automated toy designed to engage GB during daylight hours. This should help in maintaining GB’s usual routine without causing any disturbance to yours.

Regarding GB’s care, regular feeding and fresh water are all that’s required. GB is quite independent and should not demand much of your time.

For other chores that I would need your helps are just normal stuff, ex. throwing off trash, cleaning dumps, etc. that I’m quite sure that you would handle well.

Ask for the household, the usual tasks such as disposing of the trash and general tidiness would be greatly appreciated. I have no doubt in your ability to manage these with ease.

Last, I need to sincerely thank you again for doing this for me. It helps a lot. Be prepared that I would bring tons of souvurnirs souvenirs back and bombarding your house with them.

Once again, thank you for your kindness. I look forward to returning the favor and rest assured, I’ll be bringing back an array of souvenirs to share with you. / I look forward to bringing back a variety of souvenirs for you.

Thank you,

Hsiang Warm regards, Hsiang

Task 2

grow up in the countryside

Topic

Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

My answer

As a person who grow up in a big city but periodically live in the countryside during the holiday, I would say one could have a hybrid environment to grow up is better. The reason behind this idea is that what is good for one is decided by one who has experienced the choices one has.

In general people tend to hate or being not satisfied with what they have possessed. Growing up in the same environment would leave one with not enough angle to see things differently. For example, many of my collegemate grow up in a big city, and couldn’t get the chance to know how it feels like to be able to get off from school early and play in the field with friends for the rest of the day. Vise versa, for children grow up in the countryside might loose the chance to received the better education or the state of art teaching materials thus causes the not sufficient skills or knowledge to compete with the children from a city. Although it’s worth noting that everyone has different purposes to pursue in their life. Thus it brings back to what I claimed for this topic. The hybrid growing up environment could give the children ability to choose what they want.

Copilot’s answer

Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. While both environments have their advantages and disadvantages, I believe that a combination of both could provide the most well-rounded upbringing for children.

Growing up in the countryside offers children the opportunity to experience nature and engage in outdoor activities. The slower pace of life and close-knit communities can also provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children. However, the countryside may lack the educational and cultural opportunities that are available in big cities.

On the other hand, growing up in a big city exposes children to a diverse range of people, cultures, and experiences. Cities offer a wealth of educational and cultural opportunities, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. However, the fast pace of city life and the lack of access to nature can be stressful for children.

In my opinion, the ideal upbringing for children would involve a combination of both environments. Children could benefit from the educational and cultural opportunities of the city, while also having the chance to experience nature and the slower pace of life in the countryside. This would provide children with a well-rounded upbringing and prepare them for the challenges of the modern world.

In conclusion, while both the countryside and the city have their advantages and disadvantages, a combination of both could provide the best upbringing for children.
